Journal Description :The Journal of Contemporary Administration (Revista de Administração Contemporânea – RAC) was established in 1997 and is published bimonthly by ANPAD (Brazilian Academy of Management), with open-access to its full text (peer-reviewed) content online. Registered under ISSN 1982-7849 (online) and ISSN 1415-6555 (print version from 1997 to 2010) The journal publishes articles on theoretical development and theoretical-empirical work in the area of Administration and Accounting, aligned with Open Science practices: open data, materials and open source, as well as the dissemination of additional information related to the editorial process, also abiding by the principles of COPE – Committee on Publication Ethics for scholarly publication. The Journal of Contemporary Administration (RAC) is the leading academic journal in its field, with high quality peer-reviewed contributions. RAC is a pluralistic and unorthodox business journal in the field of management research, primarily concerned with issues relating to the links between strategy and competitive management, and provides research findings on systems and standards, corporate management tools, organizations and management, specific industry sectors, and answers to contemporary issues such as development, community resilience, inequality, consumption, technology, and climate change. From a regional perspective and interdisciplinary spirit, RAC is positioned at the forefront of theoretical and methodological innovation, welcoming substantive and empirical contributions that investigate and problematize significant issues of economic, social and political concern, especially where these new approaches advance. We prioritize empirically engaged work that promotes critical epistemological approaches, that push conceptual boundaries, that put theory to work in innovative ways and consciously navigates the politics of knowledge production, both inside and outside academia. The horizons of contemporary administration are broad, but the themes of recurring concern for the Journal of Contemporary Administration include topics on: . Environmental management . Production, distribution and consumption of resources; . Urban policy; . Technology, information and knowledge; . Financial and Capital Markets . Corporate Finance . Supply chain . Entrepreneurship . Labor Markets . Organizational and individual behavior RAC seeks to foster communication between governmental, business and industrial, academic and non-governmental organizations, which are critical in solving business management problems, with regional emphasis. It also seeks to advance interdisciplinary research of political relevance on contemporary issues such as applied technologies, climate change, biodiversity, pollution and environmental waste, renewable and nonrenewable natural resources, sustainability and the interactions between these issues. To this end, we understand that contemporary management values a diverse range of theories, methods, and approaches, especially where they engage with research traditions, evolving debates, and new directions in urban and regional studies. RAC facilitates and encourages high-quality research efforts aimed at investigating important issues in contemporary management. The journal publishes significant theoretical or empirical, and positive or normative contributions. RAC's primary demand is for original documents, which may be of interest to the RAC public, such as policy makers, academics, and practitioners. Given that RAC accepts submissions from research efforts supported by different approaches, empirical papers that study causal mechanisms are expected to propose a convincing identification strategy. Submitted papers should address contemporary issues of regional importance, aim to inform debate and policy making, and be of international relevance. Therefore, manuscripts focusing on regional issues are welcome if they suggest research strategies or offer valuable lessons more generally. Manuscripts that reveal the need for more scientific research are also welcome. All contributions will be reviewed independently. Proposals for common and guest-edited special issues are encouraged and welcome. The RAC publishes, besides unpublished theoretical-empirical articles, tutorial articles, technological articles, and teaching cases.
