Otolaryngology is the area of medicine dealing with conditions of the ear, nose, and throat regions. The specialty is often treated as a unit with surgery of the head and neck. Rhinology is a subspecialty area of otolaryngology. Rhinology describes the science of the anatomy, functions and diseases of the nose, nasal passages and sinuses.
