The results of the analysis showed that the current commercial facilities were inadequate in terms of storage capacity, ease
of use, and effectiveness of product layout. The proposed redesign includes the use of lightweight but sturdy materials, the
application of knockdown and portable systems to facilitate mobility, and a more attractive display design. Based on the
analyzed data, it can be concluded that the commercial facilities can carry 4 styrofoam which can accommodate 140 packs of
frozen food, 2 baskets, 1 seller chair. And the trading facilities have dimensions of length: 156 cm width: 104 cm height: 200
cm. This design is expected to provide functional and aesthetic solutions that support the operational activities of frozen food
traders while improving the consumer shopping experience. |
| PENERAPAN GAYA ARSITEKTUR MODERN TROPIS PADA PERANCANGAN TOKO KUE DAN BUKU DI SAMARINDA | | Author : Lalu Muhamad Gantara Ranusman, Keytysha Efifania Upa, Anna Rulia, Nur Husniah Thamrin, Iga Nur Ramdhani | | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Samarinda is developing City in the tourism industry, Specially in culinary tourism. Data shows that Samarinda has
the second-highest number of restaurants in East Kalimantan after Balikpapan, its indicated by significant potential
as a culinary tourism destination. This growth aligns with the increasing public interest in high-quality food and
beverages, as well as the demand for comfortable reading spaces. Therefore, to accommodate both the high interest in
reading and culinary tourism, a building concept that integrates these activities is necessary. This study aims to design
an integrated concept of a bakery and bookstore in Samarinda, adopting a modern tropical architectural style. The
design is expected to create a comfortable, aesthetic, and functional space that also reflects local identity. The design
process is based on an analysis of the tropical climate and user needs. This research method uses a qualitative
descriptive method, with this research method it is expected to show various qualitative information with careful
description and analysis. Each object will be studied in terms of trends, non-uniformity, thought processes, object
models and their integration as in the case study. The results of the study indicate that the proposed design successfully
integrates a two-story bakery and bookstore using a modern tropical architectural approach in Samarinda. The
adaptation of modern tropical architecture is reflected in the incorporation of elements such as sloped roofs, cross
ventilation, sun shading, as well as the use of natural materials such as natural stone and wood. |
| IMPLEMENTASI KONSEP INDUSTRIAL PADA SITE TABLE DENGAN PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH DI PT VIGOR JAYA PERKASA | | Author : Prasiska Damastuti, Sekar Della Nelia | | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Side table is one of the complementary furniture in the family room, living room, bedroom or other rooms. Side table
products in a room are not only considered in terms of their function to place items but also need to be considered in terms of
their suitability with the concept of the room. Currently, the industrial housing concept is quite popular with the public, as
well as the complementary furniture in it. The implementation of the industrial concept in furniture products is carried out by
utilizing a combination of quality materials, creating a warm, unique, and functional atmosphere in the residence. Based on
various aspects of design considerations, the design of the side table with an industrial concept was carried out using the
design thinking method which includes the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The design of the side table
design with an industrial concept uses waste materials available in the PT Vigor Jaya Perkasa industry. At PT Vigor Jaya
Perkasa there are various types of waste that can be utilized such as hollow iron, metal , solid wood, artificial boards, HPL,
and veneer. The use of waste materials at PT Jaya Vigor Perkasa in making side tables can be an alternative to increase the
selling value of waste. By utilizing a combination of these waste materials, it is hoped that it can show the implementation of
the industrial concept in side table furniture products |
| PERANCANGAN AKSESORI FESYEN SEBAGAI SUVENIR KHAS TEMANGGUNG BERBAHAN SISA PRODUKSI DAUN TEMBAKAU | | Author : Jocelin Amanda Halim, Marcellino Aditya Mahendra, Centaury Harjani | | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Temanggung Regency is known as a tobacco production center, yet it currently lacks a signature souvenir product that
utilizes the uniqueness of local materials such as tobacco leaf production waste. These discarded leaves, which are not
selected for cigarette manufacturing, are abundant and can cause environmental pollution if left unmanaged. This project
aims to design fashion accessories such as a card holder, clutch, and mini bag as distinctive souvenirs of Temanggung by
using laminated tobacco leaf waste, while representing local identity and cultural values. The design challenge focuses on
how to create products that are functional, aesthetic, and reflective of Temanggung’s uniqueness, including the Wiwitan
Tembakau tradition. The method used is Material Driven Design (MDD), involving exploration of material characteristics,
technical experimentation, and product development through model studies and user evaluations. The results show that
laminated tobacco leaves offer sufficient flexibility and strength to substitute conventional leather for small-scale products.
Material thinning and reinforcement are essential to achieve neat construction and user comfort. The final products not only
fulfill practical and aesthetic needs but also communicate local cultural narratives through their visual and philosophical
design elements. This project demonstrates that tobacco leaf waste can serve as a sustainable alternative material that
strengthens regional identity and opens opportunities for developing a local wisdom-based creative economy. |
